Non-Flanged
Certain OE car manufacturers utilize a flange on the oxygen sensor that mounts directly onto 2 studs on the exhaust pipe or manifold. On the OEM equipped oxygen sensor, you will notice that there is no hexagonal nut, as it is not required for torquing. The 2 studs in the exhaust go through the holes of the flange, and the entire flanged sensor is torqued by tightening each of the stud nuts. OEM flanged oxygen sensors do not use the usual metal circular gasket used on most other sensors. Instead, they use a special metallic fibre gasket that is the same shape and size of the flange.
