Landfill Gas Deposits

Landfill Gas Deposits can be as troublesome as siloxanes, or simpler less troublesome silica (SiO2) and silicates (SixOy). In their simpler form they are also lighter colored or white, and can also contain calcium, sulfur, zinc and phosphorus. When the simpler form accumulates, evidence is typically seen as a crusty build up, it may flake off easily or may be extremely hard and baked on. Usually they are non-conductive and nothing more than something to monitor, however, if enough build up occurs to cause bridging, fouling will follow and necessitate cleaning by chemical or mechanical means, or plug replacement. If the deposits are conductive, then you have the potential for core nose tracking and misfire.
See Siloxanes for information on these more troublesome LFG deposit.
