Bosch fine wire spark plugs are designed to improve starting and reduce fouling. Fine wire electrodes will perform better than a traditional plug for two reasons. First, a smaller center electrode requires less voltage to jump the gap. This means fewer misfires, which will be seen in higher mileage and more horsepower. Second, smaller center electrodes reduce quenching, which will produce higher performance. Bosch Platinum and Ir-Fusion spark plugs both have ultra fine wire center electrodes, which will provide better performance, but are also constructed with platinum or iridium so that they will surpass the longevity of a traditional spark plug. |
